Delete your account
What happens
- You disappear for everyone immediately.
- Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Nothing is archived and nothing can be restored.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open Siymo Maps and tap your picture to open Settings, then your profile.
- Choose Delete account.
- If you own groups, choose to hand each one to another member or delete it.
- Confirm. On an iPhone account created with Apple, you will be asked to confirm with Apple once more so we can end the link between your Apple account and Siymo Maps.
Option 2: without the app
If you no longer have the phone or the app, email us at privacy@siymo.com with the subject Delete my Siymo Maps account and tell us:
- how you sign in (phone number, Google or Apple); and
- your phone number, or the email of your Google or Apple account.
To protect you from someone else deleting your account, we will ask you to prove it is yours. For a phone account that usually means sending a short text message from that number to a service number we give you. We aim to complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming it is you, and we will email you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, photo, colour, and the phone number or sign-in details.
- Your memberships, invites and join requests, zones, alerts, devices, signed-in sessions and push tokens.
- Your last recorded location.
- Groups you own, if you chose to delete them (otherwise they are handed to someone you pick).
What may remain, and for how long
- Short security records, such as the fact that an account was deleted, for up to 1 year.
- Alerts already delivered to other people about you (for example “Aziza arrived at School”) can stay in their feeds for up to 180 days before they expire.
- Your Timeline was only ever on your phone. It is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.
Changed your mind before you delete? You can also just pause sharing, leave a group, or sign out from Settings. Deleting is permanent. If you simply want to stop being visible, turning sharing off is enough.
