1. Agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and Siymo (“we”, “us”), who operate Siymo Maps and its mobile apps. By creating an account or using Siymo Maps you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. If you do not agree, do not use Siymo Maps.
2. Who can use Siymo Maps
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement where you live. You may not use Siymo Maps if the law prohibits you from doing so, or if we have previously removed your account for breaking these Terms.
3. What Siymo Maps is
Siymo Maps lets you share your live location with the small groups you choose, see the people in those groups on a map, set zones (places such as Home or School) and receive alerts when someone arrives or leaves. You decide when you share, with which group, and how precisely. A Timeline of your own movements can be kept on your phone only.
The service is provided free of charge in its current form. Features may change, and some may be added, limited or removed over time.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your phone number (by sending us a text message), or with your Google or Apple account.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not let anyone else use your account. If you lose a phone, or think someone has access, end its session in Settings and tell us.
- If your phone number changes hands, tell us or change the number in the app. Whoever controls a number can sign in to the account tied to it.
5. Consent and respect for others
Location is sensitive. Siymo Maps is built for people who choose to share with each other. When you use it:
- Only add or watch people who have agreed. Do not invite, follow or create zones around someone who does not know about it or has not agreed.
- Do not use Siymo Maps to stalk, harass, monitor or control anyone, or to find a person who does not want to be found.
- If you are a parent or guardian, use Siymo Maps for a child only where you are legally responsible for them, in a way that is lawful where you live, and with the child's knowledge.
- When someone pauses sharing, leaves a group or removes you, respect that. Do not try to get around it.
If you feel unsafe because of someone's use of Siymo Maps, you can pause or turn off sharing, leave the group, end other sessions, or delete your account at any time. You can also contact us at privacy@siymo.com, and we will take reports seriously.
6. Rules of use
You agree not to:
- break any law or anyone's rights, or use Siymo Maps for anything illegal;
- pretend to be another person, or give a false name to mislead a group;
- upload a profile photo or name that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or infringes someone else's rights;
- use invite codes to add people without their agreement, or try to guess or scrape codes, groups or users;
- interfere with or attack the service, probe it for weaknesses without our written permission, or overload it;
- use automated tools, bots or modified apps to access Siymo Maps, other than the official apps;
- copy, resell, reverse engineer or build a competing service from our software, except where the law allows it;
- spoof or fake your location to deceive other people.
7. Your content
Your name, photo, zone names and similar details are “your content”. You keep your rights in it. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and show it to the people you share with, only to run Siymo Maps for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the short periods described in the Privacy Policy. You promise that you have the right to use what you upload.
8. Safety and accuracy
- Siymo Maps is not an emergency or safety service. Do not rely on it to find, protect or rescue anyone. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Location depends on GPS, the phone's operating system, battery, signal, permissions and settings. Positions can be late, missing, blurred (if a group is set to approximate) or wrong. Alerts and notifications can be delayed or not arrive.
- We do not promise that Siymo Maps will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Other companies' services
Siymo Maps works with services from other companies, such as your phone's operating system, mobile carrier, Google, Apple, Cloudflare and the map providers you choose. Their terms and policies apply to their services. Sending a text message to sign in may cost you standard carrier rates. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
10. Changes, suspension and ending
- You can stop using Siymo Maps and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account).
- We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if needed to protect people or the service, or if we must by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
- We may change these Terms or the service. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by another reasonable means before it takes effect. If you keep using Siymo Maps after that, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, delete your account.
11. Our rights
Siymo Maps, its apps, design, name and logo belong to Siymo and its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the official apps for their intended purpose. Parts of the software are covered by open-source licences, which apply to those parts.
12. Warranty and liability
Siymo Maps is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data or profit, or harm resulting from the use of location information, from the actions of other users, or from reliance on alerts or maps. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan. We will try to resolve any dispute with you in good faith first. Disputes that cannot be resolved are for the competent courts of Tashkent, without affecting any mandatory right you have to bring a claim where you live.
